The concept for Hive11 was born in 2022. Over the next 15 months as the space was developed, the needs and desires of the local Hamilton community were kept high in mind to ensure it truly reflected their needs.

During this process, the name 'Hive 11' came to life, symbolising a place where everyone is working together. We look forward to welcoming you into our space!

"As a community group based around a hobby, it can be really difficult to run public events. Gaming spaces are often cramped or noisy, and more private spots often require higher ticket prices to cover the cost. Amazingly, Hive 11 hits the sweet spot for the Waikato Role-Playing Guild. There are the resources we need to run tables, as well as the space to spread out and a bunch of natural light to make events a nice welcoming place. It also helps that it's a central location with plenty of parking available, which is another challenge that event spaces usually come with. We have successfully run 5-6 events in the space now, and it's great to see so many new hobbyists translating their experience at Hive 11 into a passion going forward.

We normally host between 15-25 event-goers for TTRPG events and workshops, but there is space for twice this if we needed it. We plan to continue to use the Hive 11 space as much as possible, and we would and do absolutely recommend it other small event runners."
